MAAA-MPP

MAAA-MPP Program (60 credit hours)

The course requirements for the dual MAAA-MPP can be completed in just five semesters, plus a 280-hour internship usually completed during one of the summers in which you’re enrolled in the program.

The combined MAAA-MPP program requires a minimum of 60 credit hours distributed among the following components: public policy core, arts administration core, advanced tools, arts management and policy, capstone, elective, and experiential. The remaining credit hours necessary for graduation, if any, are general electives that can be used to add breadth to a student’s program; to further explore a field of concentration; or to enhance skills in foreign languages, quantitative tools, or administrative techniques.

Requirement VI: Electives (6 credit hours)

Students will take general elective credits to reach the required 60 credit hours. All master’s-level O’Neill IUB courses are eligible to count towards general elective credits. If a student enrolls in an internship for credits and receives a Prior Experience credit reduction, they may not enroll in general elective credits. Students should confer with their advisor(s) before registration to ensure they are making progress toward completing all degree requirements.

Requirement VII: Experiential (0 credit hours)

You will complete three 50-hour arts management practicum projects, as well as a 280-hour internship. You should register for 0 credits of the practicum course each semester unless counseled otherwise by your academic advisor.
